For the second installment of my bloggy blog on RS, I'm choosing to talk about running, and maybe something else as well.

As for the running, the plan is still going very well.  The main problem is that I need to remind myself to hold back on my training until I feel I'm absolutely 100%.  My strength is coming back faster than I thought, and I could easily run about 100 to 110 miles this week and still get in my workouts.....but I have to tell myself "NO" and just hit maybe 70 to 80.  I ran a half steady pace run on Sunday....this means that Instead of doing a steady run, which I classify as 8 to 12 + miles at about 30 seconds slower than my lactate threshold pace, I did only 4 miles.  This is kind of a test for me.  I don't want my hip to get pissed off at me during the workout, so I'm trying to get back into it by doing workouts that are half or less of what I normally would do.  By the way, the pace sucked too, but I'm happy with it.  Normally I can run 10 miles at about 5:30 pace on Amazon trail after about 3 weeks of 100 + mileage and have my finishing HR be about 145-155.  This is the zone that you're supposed to hit (or at least the zone that works for me) in this workout.  It's not a tempo, which would mean that I would be hitting perhaps 160 to 170 max by the end of it.  Anyway, the pace was like a 5:50 average this time as I just tried to run what my injury would let me do without pain.  No real pain, so it was great!  Yesterday I put in a little over 10 miles in the am and did a lot of stretching, core work etc. and then I put in 9 miles this morning with core and stretching.  Tomorrow is more light 300m Hendricks hills in the morning followed by another easy 10 miler in the evening, for about a 20 mile day.  It's starting to feel good!!!

Oh, and other than running, something kinda funny happened last night.  I was at dinner with 3 of my friends and was flirting with our waitress....and it seemed that she was flirting back pretty good too....I mean, this chick was a firecracker!  She had some damn witty things to say.  Anyway, after many quick, witty flirts, I excuse myself from the table to use the men's room.  I open the door to the men's room, and our waitress is standing inside.  I say, "should I come in and lock the door?"  She says, "yes, do you have any protection?"  Then she proceeds to.......   Haha, okay, so she didn't proceed to do anything and didn't ask me about protection, but it was an ackward moment and funny as hell.  She passed by our table later and said, "didn't your mom ever tell you to put the toilet seat down when you're done?"  This waitress was freakin hilarious.  It was a fun night.
